Objective: This study explores the potential of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in the university library websites of Iran, aiming to provide a suitable framework for designing AR content that enhances user experience and improves library services. Methodology: This research employs a qualitative approach, involving semi-structured interviews with 20 experts in library science, web design, and AR technology. The data were coded and analyzed using thematic analysis. Additionally, a Likert-scale questionnaire was administered to 223 students to validate the extracted framework. Findings: The results indicate that AR can significantly enhance user interaction with library content. Various sections of library websites, including loan services and educational resources, are amenable to AR enrichment. Essential features of AR content include interactivity, accessibility, and high visual quality. Preferred content for enrichment encompasses digital books, interactive guides, and multimedia resources. Results: The framework proposed in this study can serve as a practical guide for library website designers, aiding in the enhancement of user experience and the improvement of university library services. Originality: This research addresses the need for a comprehensive framework for designing AR content in university library websites and can serve as a credible resource for researchers and designers in this field. |
